Mike Smith, CEO of Axis Insurance Services, LLC has been asked to speak at the NAI Property Management Council, to be held at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, from February 3rd to the 5th.
Mike has been working with NAI member companies for almost 15 years and is a frequent speaker, sponsor and exhibitor to the event. Having insured many of the network members, he is well respected in the NAI Network. Mike and his firm have insured hundreds of commercial real estate firms and given his background he can provide valuable insight into the risk management aspects of running a Commercial Real Estate firm.
In this session, Mike will discuss recent trends in liability for Commercial Property Managers. He will address E&O claims and trends as well as other emerging issues such as cyber and privacy risk, commercial crime, violence and certificate of insurance related issues. As more states enact legislation regarding personal and identifiable information, property managers should be aware of the current regulations and requirements and their potential liability in the event of a breach. Additionally, with an increase in gun violence, protesting and other similar issues, he will address the property manager’s responsibility for security and safety of tenants and guests of the properties they manage.
