Paul Hacker is a seasoned Professional Liability Broker, Retail Division. for Axis Insurance Services, LLC (Axis). Paul joined the firm in 2018 after a successful career in the healthcare industry. He recently celebrated his six-year anniversary at Axis servicing the company’s clients and helping them meet their professional, management and cyber liability insurance needs.
Before joining Axis, Paul spent 28 years in the healthcare delivery market where he focused on the cost containment arena. He worked with large employers to develop cost containment strategies and effectively reduce their healthcare costs. His experience in the industry provides Paul with keen insight into the inherent risks in the healthcare industry as well as the contacts he needs to successfully build his professional, management and cyber liability practice. Paul met Axis CEO Mike Smith many years ago through networking and after an initial conversation was sold on embarking on a Property & Casualty career.
Paul’s tenure with Axis was hindered by the outbreak of COVID which significantly hindered his ability to grow his book of business in a traditional fashion, with in-person meetings, conferences and speaking engagements. Not to be held back, Paul had to reinvent his sales tactics by joining organizations, doing webinars, reaching out through social media and branching out more to the evolving cyber liability market. His last name of “Hacker” provided an entry for more cyber sales and he even coined the term “the Virtuous Hacker." Paul has appeared on such podcasts as “Mornings with Joe”, presented to organizations such as SIOR (Society of Industry and Office Realtors) and is a regular contributor to the Real Professionals Network and LI Claims Association. He is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. Despite the effects of COVID, he was able to achieve Million Dollar Producer’s Club status within the company.
Paul has many hobbies and interests outside of selling insurance. He contributes to his community in many ways. He has worked with a few organizations such as Pony Power, a non-profit organization that utilizes equine therapy for individuals with special needs, PTSD, anxiety and other disorders, and CUMAC ECHO, a local organization that provides food and other services to over 33,000 families that are food deficient. He has previously been involved many other organizations such as Autism Speaks and Shatterproof. When he is not volunteering for his community, he spends time with his children on their various school activities and has served as both coach and board member for their various sports teams.
Paul specializes in Professional, Management and Cyber Liability insurance programs with specific specialties in insurance agents and brokers, real estate, healthcare and cyber liability for all industries.
Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude from Siena College with a BA in Psychology and a Concentration in Marketing and Management.
Paul enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and being outdoors. He recently purchased a four-wheeler to add a little excitement to his outdoor activities. He has four children and his 17-year-old daughter shares his interest in healthcare. She plans to pursue a degree in Nursing and aspires to become a Nurse Practitioner.
