Early this morning,  The Weather Channel, a 24/7 weather news agency was knocked off the air by a malicious attacker. The attack occurred at 6AM just as their morning show was going off the air.

Anchor, Jim Cantore had  this statement to say, "The Weather Channel, sadly, has been the victim of a malicious software attack today."

"Yes, and it has affected our ability to bring you your weather information," added anchor Stephanie Abrams. "So we just wanted to say thank you again for your patience and we want to get right to today's severe weather."[1]

The current cause of the attack is unknown, but federal prosecutors are now involved as this channel is used as a measure of influencing safety decisions.
