On September 21st, Axis Insurance Services and PL Risk Specialty Insurance Agency employees participated in the Northern New Jersey Autism Speaks Walkathon at the Meadowlands Raceway. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the spirit of camaraderie and a shared commitment to making a difference. As the sun rose over the Meadowlands Raceway, participants gathered in vibrant groups, each wearing their team colors with pride. The event not only raised in excess of $130,000 but also heightened awareness about autism, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
The Axis and PL Risk team spent the previous three months raising money in excess of $26,000 for the charity and was the number one fund raising team in the Northern New Jersey Walk. The company held fund raising events such as night of bowling, solicited corporate sponsorships and had 15 walkers for the event, including 4 team members achieving the Grand Club by individually raising in excess of $1,000. The Grand Club members included the top fund raiser for the event Javier Gonzalez a well as Mike Smith, Matt Culkin and Justina Confer. Drew Smith, Marketing Manager was among the speakers helping kick off the walk which was done on the actual racetrack. Over 1500 walkers came to participate and cheer on the various teams for a good cause.
